Longhand Note of President Harry S. Truman, May 4, 1952. President's Secretary's Files - Longhand Notes.
May 4, 1952
Went to the Carter Barron outdoor theater to a music festival with Mrs. T. & Margaret. It opened with Mozart's Overture to the Marriage of Figaro-a lovely and beautiful piece of music. Then the Army Band played Mr. Dorval's "To a Rose" & "Water Lilly". The band played a piece from "Porgy & Bess" Gershwin and then an army [illegible] sang Julia Ward Howe's "Glory, Glory, Halleluiah"
A couple of boys, Bergin & Eddie Fisher sang solos. Altogether a great performance.
