Cabinet Meeting Minutes, November 2, 1945. Matthew J. Connelly Papers - Notes on Cabinet Meetings I.

CABINET MEETING, FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 2ND, 1945

PROPOSED AGENDA

1. Discussion of Labor-Management Conference

THE PRESIDENT

Brought out a few points with respect to departmental policies. Gave UNRRA the authority for missionaries to visit China and Africa. Discussed advisability of participating in a program for shipping dehydrated potatoes which are in excessive supply.

The main subject however was with respect to the Labor-Management Conference. The President discussed the possibility of the representation of independent labor unions and of small business but it was generally agreed that invitations to independent labor unions and to small business firms would cause untold difficulties brought about by any attempt to select representatives from either group. It was agreed that this should not be done.

There were no points of controversy and the meeting was adjourned.
