President Dies

President Roosevelt died on April 12, 1945 at 4:35 p.m. in Warm Springs, Georgia at the age of 63. His last words were, "I have a terrible headache." He died when he was getting his portrait painted. Vice-President Truman was sworn in as President immediately.

When Truman asked Mrs. Roosevelt if there was anything he could do for her, she replied, "No, the question is, is there anything I can do for you ?"
