The state of Missouri's relationship with the Korean peninsula goes back to the legacy of President Truman, his decisions about the Korean War, and his post-presidential efforts to build a close relationship between Korea and his home state. The University of Missouri played an important role in these efforts; as a result of President Truman's interest in close ties between Korea and Missouri, the MU alumni community in Korea is one of the largest outside the state.

Join the Mondays with McCullough book club to study the Pulitzer-prize winning biography "Truman" by David McCullough, one chapter at a time. Program is at 12:00 noon on the second Monday of the month in the Independence Room. Bring your own lunch if you wish. The May session will discuss the eighth chapter of the book.
