Sign, "Welcome Home From the Crow-Eaters," on the front of the Washington Post Building in Washington, D.C. President Harry S. Truman and Vice President Alben W. Barkley had just returned to Washington after their victory in the 1948 election--a victory not predicted by the Washington Post.
