Description

This is a photograph of a political cartoon by Jim Berryman showing President Harry S. Truman and Governor Thomas E. Dewey on their respective campaign trains, riding through a desert. Truman's train is entitled the "Give 'Em Hell Special" and Dewey's is entitled the "Brotherly Love" special. In this photo, the cartoon is titled, "Down by the Station." When it was originally published in the Washington Evening Star, it carried the title "Out Where the Worst Begins."
