Description
View of W. Averell and Marie Harriman visiting the palace in Yalta which was at the time of the visit a sanitarium. The man on right may be Dr. Dadoyan, director. Thayer relates in his account that they "were greeted by the Director, Dr. Dadoyan...the palace...is now a sanatorium where about 900 working people come for rest cures from all over the Soviet Union." Charles W. Thayer accompanied W. Averell Harriman as a guide and confidant on the trip which took place May 12 - June 26, 1959.
