Book Author Series Presented by the Truman Presidential Museum & Library

Independence, MO - Cheryl Harness, author of Ghosts of the White House,
will make a presentation as part of the Children's Book Author Series
at the Truman Presidential Museum & Library Saturday, December 8 at
Ghosts of the White House is a history picture book for older children that presents facts within a fictional framework. Sara, the main character, is summoned by the ghost of George Washington who takes her on a personal tour of the White House. The book is filled with sketches of the first mansion and its occupants.
Harness received a degree in art education from Central Missouri State University. That launched her into an array of positions including selling art-supplies, creating greeting cards for Hallmark Cards and as a needlework designer in California. Other books by Cheryl Harness include Ghosts of the 20th Century, Three Young Pilgrims, Mark Twain and the Queens of the Mississippi and George Washington.
Cheryl Harness is the third speaker in the Children's Book Author Series at the Truman Presidential Museum & Library. The presentation is free with museum admission. For seat reservations call Central Ticket Office at 816-235-6222.
The Truman Presidential Museum & Library is located at U.S. Highway 24 and Delaware Street in Independence, Missouri. The Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. The Museum is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.
