Description

his footage from Kansas City station KCMO-TV covers the presentation of artist Elaine de Kooning's portrait of John F. Kennedy to Mr. Truman at the Truman Library in Independence, Missouri on February 12, 1965. The ceremony took place in the Truman Library auditorium.  Speakers in order of appearance are Elaine de Kooning, Missouri Council of the Arts Chairman W. Howard Adams, Director of the Truman Library Dr. Philip Brooks, former President Harry S. Truman, and Congressman Richard Bolling.
