Description

President Truman visits Annapolis, Maryland via the Williamsburg. Film features an appearance by Secretary of the Navy John L. Sullivan. President Truman boards the Lenore and witnesses the Cornell Navy crew races, arrives at the U. S. Naval Academy, and throws out the first pitch at the Army Navy baseball game. The President then goes to Arlington, Virginia for Memorial Day services, again on the Williamsburg. This is a color version of MP76-60.

0:00   May 28. Harry S. Truman arrives at the Naval Gun Factory where he boards the Williamsburg for the cruise to Annapolis.
1:52   Presidential yacht renders honors as it passes Washington’s tomb at Mt. Vernon.
2:32   May 29, at Annapolis the Secretary of the Navy (John L. Sullivan) boards the Williamsburg to welcome the President. Harry S. Truman leaves ship, and boards the Lenore.
3:13   On board the Lenore the President and members of his party , accompanied by Secretary Sullivan and Admiral Holloway witness the Cornell-Navy crew races. (Navy the victors.) President Truman with camera.
7:34   President and party leave Williamsburg for the Naval Academy. Appropriate honors given upon arrival.
8:54   President opens the Army-Navy baseball game by throwing out first ball. Scenes of the game.
11:54   President leaves field, and boards the Williamsburg.
13:07   May 30, President and his party leave the Williamsburg to attend Memorial Day Services at Arlington National Cemetery.
