Description

This footage from Kansas City station KCMO-TV shows excerpts from the press conference held at the Harry S. Truman Library in Independence, Missouri on August 20, 1960. The press conference includes former president Harry S. Truman, and Democratic party presidential candidate, Senator John F. Kennedy; Senator Henry "Scoop" Jackson, Senator Stuart Symington, Senator J. William Fulbright, Kenny O'Donnell, and Pierre Salinger are also present. There is coverage of Senator Kennedy arriving and departing Kansas City on the plane Caroline at the Municipal Airport, with crowds of supporters gathered to meet him there.

The press conference footage is chopped up and not shown in order from beginning to end. This footage is similar to other footage in our holdings, including MP2005-19, MP77-23, MP77-28, and MP77-20.
