- A commercial motion picture by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, produced by J. Walter Ruben in 1942. It traces President Andrew Johnson’s life to his succession to the presidency. It portrays his conflict with the Republicans in Congress, his impeachment trial and acquittal. Van Heflin portrays President Johnson. Others in the cast include Lionel Barrymore, Ruth Hussey, Marjorie Main, Regis Toomey, and J. Edward Bromberg. The script of the movie is in GHDC, Doc. #104.
