Description

Footage from the William M. Rigdon collection at Georgia Southern University, who retained the original films; Commander Rigdon was President Harry S. Truman's Naval Aide. This film concerns President Franklin D. Roosevelt's vacation at Birch Island in Canada and his attendance at the Quebec Conference in August, 1943. Eleanor Roosevelt, Canadian Prime Minister MacKenzie King, and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill are seen in the film.

01:16   August, 1943: The 1943 Quebec Conference. Several men talk outside the train. The Hotel Chateau Frontenac is shown.
01:59   The Citadel, as seen from Du fern Terrace. Lower Quebec is seen with the St. Lawrence River in the background.
