Description

Fifth part of a five part film series that is a chronological history of the men of the 134th Infantry and the places they served during World War II. Reel 5 begins in Nancy, France and includes footage from Belgium, Rheims, Germany, Southhampton, England, LeHavre, France, and the return to New York City on the Queen Mary on September 10, 1945.

00:44   Arlon, Belgium. The city is shown in various seasons.
02:52   General Baade and Col. Boatsman receive official recognition from city officials at Nancy.
03:45   School at Rheims where Germany signed the surrender.
04:29   Camp Norfolk – Rheims re-deployment center.
05:35   Regtl. Parade at Camp Norfolk.
06:12   Lt. Col. Craig, Comdr. of Troops.
07:05   D.S.C. Winner, Medical Dets; also 1,000,000th man deployed ETO.
07:20   Major Caroll receives the Silver Star.
07:34   Lt. Butler receives the Bronze Star. The parade continues after the medals are awarded.
10:32   The scene shifts to a dock. Soldiers board a ship.
11:23   Embarking for Southhampton, England from LaHavre, France.
15:48   Upper sundeck, Queen Mary, Homeward-bound.
14:20   Entering New York Harbor. Ferries and the Statue of Liberty are shown as the ship reaches home.
