00:00   Senator James M. Mead was a successive chairman of what was originally known as the Truman Committee, established the U.S. Senate in 1941 as the Special Committee to Investigate the National Defense Program, meant to investigate "excessive profits, fraud, corruption, waste, extravagance, mismanagement, incompetence, and inefficiency in expenditures, connected with the prosecution of the national defense program for World War II."
As the film starts, Notre Dame is shown at night. Only points of light are visible in the darkness.
00:31   Notre Dame is shown again – this time in daylight. George Meader, executive assistant to chief counsel, poses in front of the ornate structure with its crowds. The camera pans upwards, revealing more architectural details.
00:58   A blond woman in a dress and hat smiles at the camera.
01:03   Committee personnel are shown around a monument and fountain with focus on Lt. Cmdr. John H. Tolan, U.S.N.R. in his uniform.
01:23   The film transitions to Pisa, Italy. It shows a visit by the committee to the city’s cathedral with its famous leaning bell tower, along with other scenes around town such as horse-drawn carriages and children playing.
02:37   Sen. Homer Ferguson of Michigan and others tour Versailles. Special attention is paid to the memorial to General Pershing, an identical memorial to General La Fayette and the famous gardens at Versailles.
