COLLECTION DESCRIPTION

The collection also includes personal records and correspondence, newspaper clippings, and photographs. All materials in this collection are copies of original documents that were retained by the O'Driscoll family.

The collection contains President's Logs from the Berlin Conference, the 1944 Quebec Conference, the Crimea Conference, and inspection trips to the Pacific and Great Bitter Lake, Egypt. Also included is a proclamation by the heads of government of the United States, China, and the United Kingdom regarding Japanese surrender during World War II.

The Secret Service materials consist of "Employee's Monthly Activity" reports and records of training conducted by the Treasury Department. Memorandums associated with training, post-attack registration of federal employees, and the transfer of retirement funds are also included.

The collection contains correspondence related to the protection of the president and Danny O'Driscoll's work with the Secret Service. Personal records include reports on transfer of non-expendable property, personal history questionnaires, holiday cards, invitations, certificates, and biographical information about O'Driscoll.

Newspaper clippings and photographs relate to Secret Service training and duties as well as Presidential tours and platform appearances. Even though the majority of materials are from the Truman administration, there are also materials related to the Roosevelt, Eisenhower, and Kennedy administrations.
