0:00   Harry S. Truman: "That spring there was a difficulty with him (Stalin) that he had the idea that everything was his and what was ours was his too. I had made up my mind that that wouldn't happen if I could help it."
0:25   Harry S. Truman discusses Iwo Jima, how it cost 4.000 lives "of our youngsters" in order to take it. "It was a very, very serious affair and everybody was worried what the results would be when we tried to take the main island of Japan."
0:53   Harry S. Truman talks about the cost of taking Okinawa - 12,000 men. Noting how costly the islands of Iwo Jima and Okinawa had been, the experts estimated taking the main island of Japan would cost 500,000 men. "Some estimates were much higher than that."
