"Amputee Demonstration Team of the American Legion":
Mr. Lonnie Carberry, of Waco, Texas
Mr. Herman Pheffer, of New York City
Mr. T. O. Kraabel, Director, Nat'l Rehabilitation Commission
American legion, and Stephen and John Kraabel, his two
small nephews.
Dr. H. D. Shapiro, Rehabilitation, Medical Consultant
Mr. Norman Lodge, Nat'l Public Relations Division
(Mr. Kraabel, Nat'l Director of Rehabilitation of Legion
asked Mr. Matthew Connelly to arrange this appointment; stated
they were sponsoring trip throughout country of these two
World War II amputees, one double leg and other double arm;
They were on tour to visit amputees of Korean War to boost
morale. Similar project carried on during World War II and
the Amputee Team was received by President Roosevelt).
