(Dr. Weigle wrote the President that for about ten years
major cooperative agencies of Protestant and Eastern
Orthodox churches in this country have been working
toward closer coordination of their work and have now
reached point where they are planning to merge eight
national agencies in one organization and would like to
secure federal charter. This group has been marking the
arrangements and wanted conference with the President
to secure his advice with regard to sponsorship of the
charter in Congress)

(When the President talked to him on phone recently, asked
him to come in. Mr. Hoover phoned Mr. Ross)
3:35 pm The President and Mrs. Truman left for National Airport where
they met the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Begum Liaquat Ali Khan)
4:05 pm [Public Papers: Remarks of Welcome to the Prime Minister of Pakistan at the Washington National Airport]
5:20 pm (The President and Mrs. Truman left Blair House for
Congressional Club, where they dropped in at reception
given by Justice and Mrs. Burton)
8:00 pm The President and Mrs. Truman gave dinner at Blair House
for the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Begum Liaquat
