(Al Cohn wrote Mr. Connelly that Bowron was to be in
Washington, and said the Mayor would like very much to
pay his respects to the President - says that although
a Republican, Bowron openly supported Roosevelt-Truman
candidacy in last election; "is a powerful figure in
this section and is on the radio twice weekly.")

(Leaving for his post about February 15th, and wanted to
see the President before his departure)

of Institute of Traffic Engineers
(Lou Holland wrote that Mr. Seburn would be in Washington
for a meeting and wished to speak to the President about

12:30 pm Hon. Asad Al Faqih, the Minister of Saudi Arabia
(Newly appointed, and wishes to present credentials.)
12:45 pm Mr. Harvey D. Gibson, Pres., Manufacturers Trust Co., New York
(Natl. Chairman of the Red Cross War Fund Drive to be
carried out in March. Is old Red Cross executive - was
Gen. Manager of Red Cross in 1917; Commissioner for France,
1918, and for Europe 1919; was Americn Red Cross
Commissioner to Great Britain in 1942. Basil O'Connor
wanted Mr. Gibson to have opportunity to discuss whole
Red Cross situtation with the President)
