(Wrote his father was an old and good friend of the
President's, in Independence, politically and otherwise.
Col. Fonda states he has been in Army Air Forces for
last four and half years. Came here to receive Award of
the Order of the British Empire from Lord Halifax, on
February 12th)

(Has just returned from China and has requested an appointment
with the President)
