Captain's Combat Uniform Harry S. Truman purchased a captain's combat uniform and equipment in June of 1917, shortly after he was commissioned as a First Lieutenant. This uniform was taken to Camp Doniphan, Oklahoma and then to France and was most surely worn in combat.


The Harry S. Truman Library and Museum is one of twelve Presidential Libraries administered by the National Archives and Records Administration.
