Unit Introduction: The Korean War is often referred to as the "Forgotten War," nearly as many Americans lost their lives in Korea as did in Vietnam. Through research of oral histories and historical revision students can gain a greater understanding and appreciation for the sacrifices made by Americans in the Korean War.
Preparation for the Learning Adventure: Teacher visits each web site and selects the ones that are appropriate and either book marks them or copies the url's in an e-mail document so they can be accessed later. Teacher then follows directions on Track Star for making a track See Track completed by teacher. Track completed by Teacher

Answer questions on the track on the sheet listed with this unit.
Day 1. Anticipatory Set: Show video clip from Retreat,
Hell! on Korean War. Lecture outline on Truman Administration and policies with
emphasis on containment and Korea. Class discussion on Korea. Give and explain
assignment on Internet.
Day 2. Internet Research: Student will go to Track Star site previously constructed
and use internet to answer questions regarding Truman and Korea. Activity will
take entire 90 minute block.
Day 3. Conclude internet research. Students will turn in answers and hold
class discussion over findings.
