Elizabeth Wallace (Bess) Truman died October 18, 1982 at the age of 97. She died in her house at 219 Delaware St. in Independence, Missouri .Mrs.Truman died of old age. Her memorial service was held in Trinity Episcopal Church where she had been married. She was buried beside her husband who died ten years before that. President and Mrs. Truman are buried in the garden of the Truman Library.
