Pearl Selinsky e-mailed us that her uncle, Irving Heller, was Harry Truman's tailor and stated the following:

My uncle, Irving Heller, was Harry Truman's tailor. My uncle did recount the down-to-earth hominess of the president. President Truman offered my uncle a drink during a late night conversation and my uncle, saying he did not drink, opted for a glass of water, and Mr. Truman padded down to the kitchen in his slippers and got one for him.
