The Train

One important invention to Harry S. Truman was the train. The inventor was Richard Trevithick. He invented it in 1804. The train benefitted people by helping them travel longer distances at a faster rate. The early train ran on steel tracks and was powered by steam. Trains would carry heavy weight of freight or people. Harry Truman's train called the Ferdinand Magellan helped him win the election in 1948. This train weighed 142 1/2tons. It was painted dark green. The 3 1/2 inch windows were bullet proof.
