FEATURED CLASS FOR NOVEMBER 30 --DECEMBER 13:

GREENWOOD ELEMENTARY IN LEE'S SUMMIT, MISSOURI
MISS GORE'S FOURTH GRADE CLASS

Miss Gore's Fourth Grade Class at Greenwood Elementary in Greenwood, MO have enjoyed working on projects about Harry Truman this year.

In October, they studied the 1948 Campaign as part of their unit on government and elections. They researched, with the help of the school librarian, books, magazines, and the Internet to learn about important events in 1948 and the Whistlestop Campaign. They interviewed their grandparents about what they remembered about 1948 and Truman's campaign.

Along with having a display for Project Whistlestop at the Truman Library, they visited the Truman Library and learned more about the areas they had researched. They also met Niel Johnson who impersonates Truman. On Election Day, they were able to vote as a part of Kids Voting. They are looking forward to learning more about Truman when they study Missouri history later in the year.

The Harry S. Truman Library and Museum is one of thirteen Presidential Libraries administered by the National Archives and Records Administration.
