FEATURED CLASS FOR OCTOBER 5--OCTOBER 19:

LEE'S SUMMIT NORTH HIGH SCHOOL, LEE'S SUMMIT, MISSOURI, MR. PLOWMAN'S SENIOR INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE CLASS

The senior International Baccalaureate class at Lee's Summit North embarked on this adventure in their classroom. Students researched assigned dates locating information from this web site, the Public Papers Collection of President Truman, and diary entries from the Truman Library. Being from Jackson County, Missouri, the class takes a special interest in the presidency of Harry S. Truman.

A number of students took the opportunity to visit this website to find out how Harry was able to pull off one of the most improbable election upsets of all time. Hopefully, this site will help other students learn about events surrounding the presidential election of 1948. Enjoy learning about 50 Years Ago Today in Truman's Presidency.
