Two of Shelly Lindahl's fifth grade classes in Paxton School in
Platte City, Missouri, researched President Harry Truman and want to share
some facts they learned about him. The students first watched a movie
about Truman called "To the Best of My Ability." Then, they used a variety
of resources to learn more about Truman. Some of the resources were:
Internet web sites, copies of original documents from the archives of the
Truman Library, the Truman trunk, CD's on presidents, encyclopedias, books,
and magazine articles. The students shared their information with class
members and created a Truman Timeline. They then divided in small groups
and chose an area of Truman's life to further research. They summarized
their information to appear on this page.
