FEATURED CLASS FOR MARCH 1 - MARCH 14:

BARRY SCHOOL
PLATTE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT, MISSOURI
MRS. MCPIKE'S SECOND GRADE CLASS

More Class Photos!!

We are a class of 21 energetic second graders in Mrs. McPike's class at Barry School in the Platte County School District. We love to learn and really enjoy doing projects. We have been learning about Harry S. Truman who was the thirty-third president of the United States. But...he was so much more than that!

We found out about his many roles by reading, watching a video, looking on the Internet, hearing stories, studying photographs and doing hands-on activities with the Truman Footlocker. Each student chose one of the roles to write about and illustrate for our class book, The Many Roles of Harry S. Truman. Then we traced our illustrations onto quilt block fabric and colored them with fabric crayons. Our teacher sewed the blocks into a quilt.
