FEATURED CLASS FOR JANUARY 25 -- FEBRUARY 7:

Mr. Steven Hollowell's World History Class,
Seventh grade
Platte County Middle School
Platte City, Missouri

Mr. Hollowell's class is a seventh grade World History class at Platte County Middle School, Platte City, Missouri. We decided to approach our research for 50 Years Ago Today as a small group project. We divided into 2 person groups with each group receiving one date. The research went pretty well and we used a variety of resources. We had a couple of books on Harry Truman, a cd that we were able to make use of on our extra computer and a computer with an internet connection that we used to search for related materials.

It was one of the most enjoyable projects we have done so far this year. We were able to use a variety of skills and combine them into a focused product. We plan to use the internet for some of our other projects this year since it was one of the most exciting aspects of our research. We also plan to take a tour of the Truman Library to learn more about President Truman this Spring!

The Harry S. Truman Library and Museum is one of twelve Presidential Libraries administered by the National Archives and Records Administration.
