The president only had two scheduled meetings on this day. He had a staff meeting at 10:00. The staff and President Truman worked on his inaugural speech.
At 3:00, he had a meeting with Mr. John Steelman, the Secretary of Commerce, the Secretary of Labor, the Secretary of Treasury, the Secretary of Agriculture, the Secretary of Interior, the Attorney General, Mr. Thomas Mccabe from the Federal Reserve and Mr. Frank Pace from the Bureau of the Budget. These people met with the President in the Cabinet room to discuss anti-inflation.
