With our country in postwar. We were trying to recover. Prices were rising near inflation ,yet our country showed great strength. In the past, the country would have gone into depression. There are four major high points in the economic situation.First, unemployment is at a low of 2 million people. Second production of the whole economy rose three to four percent. Third, prices have ceased to rise.Fourth, wages among employers have compensated for each other. Some went down while others went up. There are five points we need to execute in order to keep the economy at a high. First, the country must the maximum employment, production, and purchasing powers. Second, the government must think long term when making decisions. Third, we must place major reliance upon our free enterprise system. Conserve and develop our natural and human resources. Retain our faith in a responsible government, and to not relax our efforts. Fourth, we must keep income the same as the cost of living. Finally, we must fulfill the requirements of our essential programs; national defense,international reconstruction, and domestic improvements in welfare. If we can do these five points,I think this will be the best the nation has been.
