Truman Footlocker

What is it?

The Truman Footlocker, similar to a WWI soldier's footlocker, contains a wealth of learning tools, replicas and memorabilia about Harry S. Truman's life. It is meant to be shared with students K-8 in their classrooms and comes with a teacher curriculum guide. With this teaching resource, elementary and middle school teachers can create innovative and interactive classroom instruction.

How do I obtain one of these footlockers?

You have two options:

1. Your school building or district purchases one or more footlockers from the Truman Library Institute. Contact Judi O'Neill by phone at (816) 268-8247 or E-mail at judi.o'neill@nara.gov. The footlocker's price is $1,000.00.
2. You may borrow the footlocker for a maximum period of 14 days. You must pick up and return it to the Truman Library. Fill out the form below and fax or mail.
