2108 Park Avenue Home &
Benton Boulevard Baptist Church

Truman moved to 2108 Park Avenue (pictured left) with his parents when they left Independence in 1903. At about this same time, Truman joined the Benton Boulevard Baptist Church (now the Macedonia Baptist Church), 25th Street and Benton Boulevard (pictured below right), about ten blocks away from his home on Park Avenue. He must have watched the new church building go up there in 1904, and he probably attended services there. The home of Truman's piano teacher, Mrs. Grace White, was nearby, at 2640 Brooklyn Avenue.

2108 Park Avenue, Benton Boulevard Baptist Church, and 2640 Brooklyn Avenue are located about 3 miles southwest of Kansas City.
