Truman
(pictured left in his Kansas City School of Law yearbook photo) attended night
classes here from 1923 to 1925, during the two years he was judge for the
eastern district of Jackson County. He took fourteen courses, earning three
A's, ten B's, and one C. He dropped out at the end of the second year of a
four-year curriculum. "I had so many people interested in the welfare
of the county who wanted to see me that I couldn't study law," Truman
said ruefully of his career as a law student. (Quoted in Alonzo Hamby, Man

The Kansas City School of Law was located at 1013 Grand Avenue.
