Yesterday was a banner day. I received two letters. Saturdays and Mondays both. Hope Vietta is recovered. Apparently Williams was OK for Milly was on time this morning. Wish I had some of the peach marmalade. You needn't be uneasy about anyone else seeing the letters. I keep em under lock and key. Glad you talked to Mary. Hope that show was a good one.
We won't have much session today because of Lundeen's death. Glad you sent the wire. Don't throw Margie's congratulations away. Sixteen years are very short in retrospect. Remember how you cried because you thought I was displeased she wasn't a boy? Well I'm glad she's not an there are nephews enough to continue the name anyway. We have been most lucky in health, happiness and our daughter. No wealth but we've made a lot of people happy by being able to make recommendations, and we may yet stay out of the old peoples home-you never can tell. I wouldn't give my friends for all the money in the world-and I'm just a plain damn fool-as everyone will tell you.
The two boys who kept the books in the St. Louis office came in today. Berenstein tried to keep em from coming. They had no dirt to spill. But they are nice Jewish boys. I'm going to help em get jobs. They worked for nothing in the campaign.
Mr. B. floats higher and higher. He had intended to be chairman of the State Committee & let Al & Budy help him run it. Now he's in touch with Chairman Flynn & I suppose will want to take his place if he can arrange it. Snyder is going home to take him down a peg. I wonder how the world ran before we met him. No letter today but I guess I should be glad for two yesterday.
Kiss the baby.
Love to you
Harry
