The Papers of Robert S. Raymond mainly consist of correspondence related to his military career during World War II.

Included are a letter containing biographical information about Raymond and his wife Betty; a letter describing the World War II experiences of Gifford Doxsee (who was a prisoner of war in Dresden, Germany, at the same time as Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., and survived the bombing described in Vonnegut’s novel, Slaughterhouse Five); and a memo describing the effort that went into producing Raymond’s book. The book, A Yank in Bomber Command, is in the Truman Library’s book collection and describes Raymond’s experiences as a pilot during World War II.
