TAKING OFFICE

As visitors exit the introductory theater, they encounter a large photomural of Harry Truman taking the oath of office as President following the death of Franklin Roosevelt on April 12, 1945.

A text panel introduces the exhibition. Displayed here, also, is the Bible on which he took that oath as President.
